Open event on the topic of adaptation of cities to climate change

The Spatial, Urban and Environmental Participatory Planning Laboratory for Climate Change (Participatory Lab) in collaboration with the Euro-Mediterranean Center for Climate Change (CMCC) organizes a thematic workshop to enhance knowledge and promote dialogue between professionals, students and researchers on the adaptation of cities to climate change.  Practices, applications and tools will be in focus.

During the webinar, the current and available models and tools will be presented for:

- the study and evaluation of existing and future climatic conditions in urban areas

- the assessment of the respective impacts

Participants will familiarize themselves with the necessary basic terms and concepts, with the aim of supporting the drafting of climate change adaptation plans in urban areas, as well as the identification of appropriate measures and actions. Examples from the Greek area will be used, with an emphasis on the Attica Region.

The event will be structured in such a way that it can be fully understood by anyone with a basic knowledge of climate change.

We will have the opportunity to attend an educational lecture byMr. Mercogliano Paola,CMCC Foundation researcherand associate professor at the University of Naples. Also, the event will be attended byMr. Spyridoula Demiri, manager of the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR strategic project for the Green Fund and member of the climate change project monitoring team of the "Innovative Actions with Citizens" program of the Green Fund. It is noted that Mrs. Demiri is monitoring the progress of the participatory LAB project on behalf of the Green Fund.
